30 Days of Prayer- Day 29
Acts 20: 18- 24
When they arrived he declared, "You know that from the day I set foot in province of Asia until now I have done the Lord's work humbly and with many tears, I have endured the trials that came to me from the plots of the Jews. I never shrank back from telling you what you needed to hear, either publicly or in your homes. I have had one message for Jews and Gentiles alike--the necessity of repenting from sin and turning to God , and having faith in our Lord Jesus.
And now I am bound by the Spirit to go to Jerusalem. I don't know what awaits me, except that the Holy Spirit tells me in city after city that jail and suffering lie ahead. But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus-- the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.
Verse meaning- Paul is telling us; a life of a believer is not rainbows and butterflies all the time. And in this life we will experience trials, sickness, pain, and death: for we live in a fallen world. This may be very difficult for some of you to read, but take heart, that God has overcome all the evil in the world. He has already one the battle against satan and his cronies! Thank God!!! This will only continue to go on for a short time. His (Paul) message was to tell others about Christ. (The Good News) And He did so, knowing what lay ahead of him. And He became one of the greatest missionaries who ever lived!!! The way of a believer in Christ is not an easy road to toll. We know this; by reading God's Word. The message of salvation is the Good News for all of us- every walk of life. For we were all created by God.
He (Paul) spread the Good News and many came to Christ. He also shed many tears as we read above. Our feelings and emotions are given to us by God and very much should be expressed to God himself and shared with others. No man is an island . It's funny to me now, but not so long ago-- those closest to me would tell you ; I use to be that woman. I rarely asked for help or expressed my hurt or sadness. All of that behavior led me to an array of addictions. (True story)
My advice is to share your feelings with those you can truly trust, and seek God in EVERYTHING! Pray! Pray! Pray! Expressing ones feelings; will keep each of us healthy and remember--bottling them up, can bring on sadness, anger, depression, and addictions. Recognizing these things early on-- will help you avoid a world of grief!
Lord Jesus, I pray that everyone reading this is ready and willing to surrender their life to You. That their hearts are prepared and ears are wide open to hear your voice. That each of us seek You God, for wisdom, direction, and discernment for our lives. That each of us know-- we must surrender all to You, and ask Jesus, Your Son, for forgiveness and to take up residence in our heart.(There is Only One way to the Father; this is through Jesus Christ) That each of us may be filled and led by the Holy Spirit each day. Open our eyes to Your heart Lord; so that we may know You better each day, becoming more Christlike. Thank You Jesus!
Father God, I pray against all sickness, persecution, mental illness, addiction, depression, anxiety, fear, divorce, false doctrine, lies, sexual temptation, evil, and evildoers. I pray in the name of Jesus; all of these things be removed from the Body of Christ. May every sick body be restored with health, every mind be healthy, and every addiction be removed in Jesus name, Amen! Remove those being held by their captors and bring them home in Jesus name, Amen! Thank You Father God. Thank you for Your forgiveness, patience, healing, protection, and unyielding love for each of us. Amen!
Moving Forward With You
