30 Days of Prayer and  Scripture - Day 25

Deuteronomy 8:2-20 NIV
The Lord Takes Care of You.
Moses said; Israel , do you want to go unto the land the Lord promised your ancestors? Do you want to capture it, live there , and become a powerful nation? Then be sure to obey every command I am giving  you.

Don't forget  how the Lord your God has led you through the desert for the past forty years. He wanted to find out if you were truly willing to obey him and depend on him, so he made you go hungry. Then he gave you manna, a kind of food  you and your ancestors had never even heard about. The Lord was teaching you that people need more than food to live-- they need every word that the Lord has spoken.

Over the past forty years, your clothing  hasn't worn out, and your feet haven't swollen. So keep keep in mind that the Lord has been correcting you, just as parents correct their children. Obey the commands the Lord your God has given you and worship him with fear and trembling.

The Lord your God is bringing you into a good land with streams that flow from springs in the valleys and hills. You can dig for copper in those hills, and the stones are made of iron ore. And you won't go hungry. Wheat and barley fields are everywhere, and so are vineyards, and orchards full of fig, pomegranate , and olive trees, and there is plenty of honey.

Don't Forget the Lord
Moses said to Israel : After you eat and are full, give praise to the Lord your God for the good land he gave you. Make sure that you never forget the Lord or disobey his laws and teachings that I am giving you today. If you always obey them , you will have plenty to eat, and you will build good houses to live in, You will get more and more cattle, sheep, silver, gold and other possessions.

But when all this happens, don't be proud! Don't forget that you were once slaves in Egypt and that it was the Lord who set you free. Remember how he led you in that huge and frightening desert where poisonous snakes and scorpions live. There was no water , but the Lord split open a rock, and water poured out so you could drink. He also gave you manna, a kind of food your ancestors had never even heard about. The Lord was testing you to make you trust him, so later on he could be good to you.

When you become successful , don't say, "I'm rich, and I've earned it all myself. Instead , remember  that the Lord your God gives you strength to make a living . That's how he keeps the promises he made to your ancestors.

But I'm warning you--- if you forget the Lord your God and worship other gods, the Lord will destroy you, just as he destroyed the nations you fought.

Many of you reading this may think, wow really? Is this true? And yes, indeed this is Very true. What does this all mean? This means; all our strength comes from the Lord. And every blessing we receive in life- comes from Him. His promises are set in stone. Everlasting , Never changing! God is concerned with Every area of our life. You are His child and He wants you to succeed in life. He has put His Word before us, as a road map on how to live out our life here-- in the most healthiest manner. He continues to give us free choice-- as He is not a dictator, as most may have been taught or even think..

So basically;  Moses, was warning us against idol worship and forgetting God.  Idol worship can come in many forms. It is anything that takes front and center in your life over God himself. It can be anything you put before the Lord your God. Addictions/ Idols if you will,  come in many forms-- drugs, alcohol, internet,  video games,  fame, money, sex, lust, television, self,  and people.

Forgetting God and His blessings, can bring no good to ones life. In times of abundance , we often take credit for our prosperity and become proud of our accomplishments and goals, only to leave God out of the picture. Prayer may not even come to mind.. Why pray? I have all that I need, right? This kind of thinking , can lead you right back to where you came from or possibly off worse than before.. Giving God thanks ---In ALL things should be a part of ones daily life.

It is not bad to have money or to be famous- its what you ultimately do with it! How do you handle the blessings God has bestowed upon your life? We each must be careful not to be ensnared by the likings of money, fame, popularity, etc. for this could become a downfall if not appreciated or used wisely.

Let us remember King Solomon , who had it all, and then some. We can learn a lot from King Solomon's example . God told Solomon he could ask for anything he wanted, and he asked for wisdom. And wisdom from God, brought him prestige, wealth, and fame, etc. Now here's the kicker!!!!!!! At the end of his life---King Solomon said; "Everything apart from God is empty, hollow and meaningless. "

It's amazing; the God of the universe takes up residence in the hearts of His people. He gives us all free will.  Thank you God ! We must give thanks to God, for He is not a dictator and His love is unyielding. And let us not forget His forgiveness, His grace, and His ability to change our outcome in life at any given moment, etc... You don't need to have a bachelors degree to figure out history and how it repeats itself . For the Bible- holds the keys to all that is good and righteous ! A clear road map to success!

My prayer-
I have been praying for each of you. I pray you also have kept each other in prayer. As some of you may know , its pretty easy to take for granted all the blessings we receive from God. So let us thank Him for protecting us and hearing our prayers. for I believe He most definitely  heard our prayers for Mexico and hears every prayer. For you are worthy to be praised Lord. You provide us with food , shelter, water,  clothing, transportation , and  medicine when we are ill - so many things to be grateful for!  Thank you Lord! I ask on behalf of your people today  God,  that you may bring healing, remove addictions, bring peace, hope, joy and restoration to all who seek You. We thank You Lord Jesus! We praise your Holy name, Jesus and ask for all these things to come to pass, amen!
