Healthy Tip Tuesday_ Anxiety!!!

Good morning and Happy Tuesday! Today is Healthy Tip Tuesday!
Today's Tip is on - AnxietyAnxiety is the Merriam-Webster dictionary is as follows;
A painful or apprehensive uneasiness of mind usually over an impeding or anticipated ill. A fearful concern or interest; a cause of anxiety ; an abnormal and overwhelming sense of apprehension and fear often marked by physiological signs (sweating,tension, and incased pulse) by doubt concerning the reality and nature of the threat. And by self-doubt about one's capacity to cope with it.

Wow right? Anxiety is a scary place to be.

 I have experienced this from time to time, throughout my life. What does the bible say about anxiety or worry ? In Genesis 7, God told Moses to build a boat for a flood would cover the earth and I am quite sure he was feeling overwhelmed and full of worry. The boat Noah built was no canoe! The boat was a the length of one and a half football fields and approximately as high as a four story building! Incredible right? Yet, God took care of the details of that job and Noah had to trust God to move forward. And if you didn't know this; he fully trusted God and got the job done!

We seem to worry about things that are out of our control. We have no control over people, relationships, natural disasters, loss of a job, house, stock market crashing, death etc. - the list could go on and on.. Thinking about these things and focusing on them; will make you fearful and can cause you anxiety! We must give our worries and anxieties over to God. He alone can remove these fears. But what happens when you can't seem to stop thought's of fear and anxiety? What does research and the Bible say to do?

There is many scripture throughout the bible concerning anxiety/ worry- Genesis 21:7 Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would nurse a baby? Yet I have given Abraham a son in his old age! Who would of believed that Abraham would be able to father a son at the ripe old age of 100 and to furthermore raise him to adulthood???? Our God is an impossible God! We can trust He has our back!! What an amazing testimony of God's goodness, His faithfulness, His comfort, His care for us and His peace. He can give us a peace of mind. It is up to us- to seek Him. Read His word and apply it to our lives.

Psalm 37: 8-9 Stop being angry ! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper- it can only leads to harm. Translation; Anger, rage and losing our temper can be very destructive emotions. They reveal a lack of faith and trust in God. Dwelling on your problems will bring you to a place of anxiety and cause you to become anxious and angry. But if you take the shift from you and your problem to God it will begin to slowly release His peace right back to you! Guaranteed!!!!!

Proverbs 20:24 The Lord directs our steps , so why try to understand everything along the way?

Matthew 6:25-26 That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life-whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn't life more than food , and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds . They don't plant or harvest or store up food in barns , for your Heavenly Father feeds them. And aren't you more valuable to Him than they are?
Matthew 6;27- Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

Research and Psychology today- had this to say: Steps to combat anxiety … "A quick and brief overview "..

Recognize your anxious thoughts - Accept them ! Accept anxious feeling by accepting the parasitic thoughts about your situations that trigger them.

 Acceptance however, does not mean complacency. Engage the problem - exposure is a gold standard for overcoming parasitic fear  -situations that you feel anxious about encountering. Behaviorally engage what you parasitically fear, and what you can progressively master .

 Master the fear, and you have one less thing to feel anxious about encountering.Build confident composure - You are also working to build a confident composure. With confident composure , you recognize that you can directly command yourself , and choose to do so. You don't demand that the world change for you, and you don't need it to. You drive your actions with productive intention. With this softer but stronger view, you can better influence the controllable events that take place around you.

Healthy Body, Healthy Mind, Healthy Spiritually !
