To be aware means; having the ability to open yourself up to all the possibilities life has to offer. Whenever facing a problem in life work, relationship, or a personal struggle, I find writing a memo to oneself or journaling can bring mental awareness to the situation at hand . Really creating a light to go off, if you will.. 

Memo's are great to remind us of things to do but also to bring awareness. Try putting a sticky note here and there around the house. Its a great start!

Nature can create a peaceful surrounding for journaling your most intimate thoughts. Consider taking a hike and packing a journal along with you. Don't forget the water and healthy snacks!

Music and dance can alter our state of mind. They stimulate different portions of the brain, and are not considered to be a thinking brain activity. Music and dance along with journaling, I believe can combat some of the stresses of our day, bringing awareness and light to the situation at hand.. 
{May be hazard to oneself ,to do all three of these things at once!} :)
