Do You Count your Loss or Blessings?
What do I mean? Today is one of many blogs this week on this very topic. So I suggest you look each day to find out more..
So let me begin by giving you the meaning of the word loss. Then we will look at the meaning of the word blessing.
Loss- detriment, disadvantage, or keep deprivation from failure, have or get to bear loss of robbery.
Death or loss to mourn ~ Failure to make good use of something, as waste of time. A thing or number or a number of things that are lost or destroyed.
Blessing - the act of words of a person who blesses. a special favor or mercy, or benefit: the blessing of liberty.
A favor or gift bestowed by God, thereby bringing happiness. The invoking of God's favor upon a person. Grateful praise or worship.
Now let's get down to it!
How can loss be a blessing? First let me tell you; it took me a long time in my life to count my losses as a blessing. When we lose someone or something in life; its very hard to see the benefit or blessing in it. (The big picture) All we can see is the loss and feel the pain of whatever it may be. Our pain sometimes can cover up what good God has in store for us in the future and keep us from living life. When we stay focused on the loss, tragedy or pain there is no movement or healing.
God says; there is a time to grieve and mourn, but this is for a time. (Not a lifetime) He doesn't want you to just exsist..
It looks very dark right now I know, but God does promise the light to return.
Psalms 126; 4-6 ~
Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like streams in the Negav. Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping , carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, caring sheaves with him.
God's ability to restore life is beyond our understanding. Look how a forest may burn down and is able to grow back.
God restores it!
Broken bones and hearts are healed! Even grief is not permanent! Our tears can be seeds planted to grow a harvest of joy because God is able to bring, joy out of our tragedy, loss, and pain..
When burdened with sorrow , know that your times of grief will end and you again will find joy. We must be patient in these times and allow God to work us through this. God's great comfort , joy and harvest is on the way! Stay strong and learn the gift of patience.
Patient~ Quietly and stedily persevering or diligent, especially in times of trouble.
Key tool to helping you and moving forward is-
1) Don't count what you lost today or in the past; but count your blessings today!
