When your teenager takes the wrong exit~ Many of us have kids, that soon enough turn into teenagers. As they begin to embark into this strange land of hormones and peer pressure, it's important to keep the communication lines open. It's funny one day they need and want you to hold their hand, the next day they want you to let go of their hand and probably murmur the words " I'm not a baby anymore.." I can do it myself.. I don't need you! Ah, sweet music to your ears.. NOT!!
Reality soon thereafter hits you like a ton of bricks! Your baby is no longer a baby. He or she has their own opinions, likes, and dislikes.. You~ No longer are their go to person except when it comes to something they want or need. Did I just say need? Yes, they claim they don't need you but in reality (THEY REALLY DO!)
Being a parent is the most thankless job in the world! You invest all your time, money, blood, sweat and tears into them. If they only knew,, Right ? They will someday, and that's when the appreciation for all that you've done comes back around. :) So hang in there!
Reality is their hormones and brain are racing like; an out of control train. Remember? What were you like? Try to think back.. The good old days right? Most people I have talked to would not like to be a teenager again & I agree with them 100%! What a roller coaster of emotions. Especially for girls.. So Moms and Dads take a deep breath and know this to shall pass!
Tomorrow I will be blogging more on this, stay tuned..
